REVISED VISION FOR THE BLOG:
We originally started this blog to promote recycling ideas and opportunities for Grand County. It has been decided that the blog should be expanded to cover the overall picture for Grand County being eco-friendly, and what residents can do to continue current programs and explore new ones. We hope to make this blog a place to discuss what’s going on in the county (including programs and meetings), sustainability, and what our options are to keep Grand County on track to be an environmentally friendly community.
ORIGINAL VISION FOR THE BLOG:
The recycling situation in Grand County has deteriorated to a disgraceful level . . . what are we going to do about it?
The landfill is filling up and the ground is fracturing and unsettled materials are starting to slide, potentially contaminating the water table. The county (we) are going to have to pay millions to resurrect the situation.
To save space in the landfill it seems fitting to come up with a viable plan to recycle what we can (county-wide) to help reduce the impact that it has on the landfill and our environment.
